Takeya believes that we are all connected by a line that cannot be severed. That we all affect one another so those connections should be pleasant. She believes in living a life that fosters a legacy for continual learning. By sharing our personal victories and struggles, exposing our closeted skeletons, and challenging societal labels we create a brilliant palette with which to paint intimacy, joy, and compassion.
Takeya’s life has shown her that in hearing others’ stories we often find our own. Although her life tragedy cannot be undone, she has found a gift that gives her an opportunity to rediscover and redefine her love of life in a more creative way.

Alt Publisher Description:
Feelings are like food emerging from the soil we walk upon. These life packages are harvested in any number of ways. Some are neat and tidy, ripe for the eating. Others require more effort to receive a meaty reward. Even still, some just reveal another layer. We have to decide how to see the abundance in life. These poems are a way to recognize for whom the bell peals. Each poem is an expression of what exists under the peel.
